Called “The World’s First Banana Preservation Device”, Banana Hats were created by Sean and launched on Kickstarter in 2020.
My mom once told me a trick to wrap something on banana bunch’s crown to prevent banana quickly turning brown. Honestly, I am not sure how effective it is, since wrapping isn’t easy, and even troublesome. In the most cases, I giving it up after break the second banana from the bunch.
The banana-saving hats are designed to solve this problem and maximize the freshness of our bananas. Bananas produce a natural ripening agent, ethylene gas, as they begin to ripen. By securing the BPA-free silicone cap to the crown of banana bunch, we are helping to inhibit the absorption of the ethylene gas, thus slowing the ripening process.
Nana Hats® are magnetically attached and easily interchangeable. This means that you can simply swap hats whenever you like. Currently, there are 6 hat styles to choose which are: Viking, Unicorn, Cheeseburger, Watermelon, Pineapple, Panda.
It seems easy to use and science proven. So, would you want to spend 13 USD to purchase a hat for your banana?
